IBM System i (iSeries, AS400) Logical Partitioning (LPAR)

With LPAR, a single iSeries system’s resources (processors, memory etc) are divided to create multiple, independent iSeries systems on a single machine.The end result od this partition is the system being separated into a primary partition and one or more secondary partitions. Each iSeries partition can then be used for different purposes, such as database operations or separate test and production environments, and can communicate with the other partitions as if they were each in a separate machine.

System Migrations
